Noriyuki “Pat” Morita (June 28, 1932 – November 24, 2005) was an American film and television actorwho played Matsuo “Arnold” Takahashi on Happy Days (1975–1983) and Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid film series. Morita was nominated for the 1985 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Morita also voiced the Emperor of China in the Disneyanimated film Mulan (1998) and portrayed Ah Chew in Sanford and Son (1974–1976).
DEATH: Morita died of kidney failure on November 24, 2005, at his home in Las Vegas at the age of 73. He was survived by his wife of 11 years, Evelyn and his three daughters from a previous marriage.
He was cremated at Palm Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
